This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies OverCap UK Limited (“we,” “us,” or “OverCap”) uses on semiliquids.com and app.semiliquids.com (together, the “Website”), what each one is for and how long it is kept. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and that your browser sends back to that website with later requests. A website can also keep information in your browser’s local storage, which stays until it is cleared, or in its session storage, which is cleared when you close the browser tab. In this policy, “cookies” includes these similar technologies.
3. How We Use Cookies
Every cookie and storage item listed in this policy is strictly necessary to provide the service you request: signing you in, keeping the Website and your account secure, giving access to pages you have unlocked, and remembering your investor-type confirmation, which controls access to content intended for professional investors. We therefore do not ask for your consent to use them.
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service.
We do not embed videos, social media plugins, advertising or tracking pixels from other websites.
When you are signed in, we record which fund pages, share classes and documents you open (see our Privacy Policy). This record is kept on our servers and linked to your account through your sign-in; no separate cookie is used for it. You can stop it at any time by switching off Usage Tracking in Settings, under Consent & Visibility.
We do not use a cookie to store your privacy choices. The choices you make in Settings, under Consent & Visibility, are stored with your account.
4. Cookies on semiliquids.com
sl_gate: Remembers your answer to the investor-type and country question, so that pages for professional investors can be shown to you without asking again. Set when you answer the question. Duration: 30 days.
sl_deck: Gives access to the presentation at semiliquids.com/deck after you enter a valid access code. It is sent only to that page. Duration: 7 days.
sl-attest-v1 (local storage): A copy of your answer to the investor-type and country question and the time you gave it, used by the page to show the right content. Duration: 30 days.
sl-gate-reload (session storage): Stops a page from reloading more than once after you answer the investor-type question. Duration: until you close the browser tab.
fund_analyzer_auth and fund_ratings_admin_token (session storage): Used only by an internal, password-protected tool. Duration: until you close the browser tab.
5. Cookies on app.semiliquids.com
token: Keeps you signed in. Set when you sign in and deleted when you sign out. Duration: up to 7 days.
oauth_state: Set only when you sign in with LinkedIn. A one-time value that protects the sign-in against cross-site request forgery. Deleted when the sign-in completes. Duration: up to 10 minutes.
auth_next: Set only when you sign in with LinkedIn. Remembers the page you were opening, so that you return to it after signing in. Duration: up to 10 minutes.
password_change_modal_dismissed (session storage): Remembers that you closed the reminder to change your password. Duration: until you close the browser tab.
6. Cookies in the Fund Manager Workspace
The fund manager workspace at app.semiliquids.com/manager sets the following cookies:
mgr_token: Keeps a fund manager user signed in to the workspace. Deleted when you sign out. Duration: up to 7 days.
mgr_staff and mgr_staff_email: Set only for SemiLiquids staff. Keep a staff member signed in to the workspace support tools and show who is signed in. Duration: up to 7 days.
mgr_impersonation: Set only for SemiLiquids staff. Records which fund manager firm a staff member is viewing. Duration: up to 30 minutes.
mgr_oauth_state: Set only for SemiLiquids staff signing in with Google. A one-time value that protects the sign-in against cross-site request forgery. Duration: up to 10 minutes.
7. Our Administration Site
Our administration site, admin.semiliquids.com, is used only by SemiLiquids staff. It sets semiliquids_session, which keeps a staff member signed in, and XSRF-TOKEN, which protects its forms against cross-site request forgery. Each expires 2 hours after the last page request.
8. Signing In with LinkedIn or Google
If you choose to sign in with LinkedIn, or if you are a member of our staff signing in with Google, you are taken to that provider’s website. That provider sets its own cookies on its own website under its own cookie policy; we do not control them.
9. Our Hosting Provider
semiliquids.com and app.semiliquids.com are hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel does not set cookies on the Website in normal operation. If Vercel’s firewall asks your browser to complete a security check, for example while the Website is under attack, Vercel may store a short-lived record in your browser that the check was passed.
10. Managing Cookies
You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the cookies described above, you will not be able to sign in to app.semiliquids.com or to open the pages for professional investors on semiliquids.com.
11. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
